Wales confirms ban on snares

Our 30 years of lobbying for a snare ban in the UK has brought its first success.

On 16th May the full Senedd met and voted down some amendments that would have allowed snares for “conservation” purposes.

It now means there can be no other attempts to allow weakening amendments.

Mark Drakeford, First Minister had sent us a very positive response to our lobbying over this amendment, but until the vote happened we could not be certain. In terms of a timeframe, the Bill was due to become law next week but there may be a slight delay now as the King needs to approve some amendments.
