A MAN has appeared in court to deny snaring and killing his next-door neighbour’s cat.

John Yeeles is accused of setting the snare in his garden, with the intention of catching the animal, on March 26.

The 68-year-old appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, where he denied causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

Yeeles, of Prince Edward Grove, South Shields, will be back in court for trial on October 31.
