Man charged over snared badger deaths

A man from Renwick, near Penrith, appeared before Eden magistrates yesterday charged with killing two badgers at Kirkoswald between May 10 and September 30 last year.

John Threlkeld, 37, of Low Scales, pleaded not guilty to both offences.

He also denied setting a snare to cause injury to a scheduled wild animal.
