An RSPCA rescue of a severely injured snared fox is the second one received into Vale Wildlife Hospital from the RSPCA this month.  Our research with the RSPCA shows it was snared near Cardiff in the first week of Jan. 2020.  The NASC gave evidence in person to the Environment Committee of the

Welsh Parliament some three years ago, when consideration was being given to banning snares.  In the end, the committee recommended pushing only for a code of practice to be implemented.  Their shame is this fox’s pain:

Vale Wildlife Hospital  Facebok post on January 10, 2020:

This male fox had this snare wrapped around his hind limbs and abdomen – both back legs were very swollen with significant bruising and will need careful monitoring for tissue breakdown, a risk associated with this type of injury.
