A young deer was caught and killed in an illegal hand-made snare in Clackmannanshire, police have said.

The animal was found by a member of the public in a wood behind Mary Stevenson Drive in Alloa last Tuesday evening.

Central Scotland Police said it was believed that the deer had "suffered considerably".

A spokeswoman for the force urged anyone with information to come forward and contact either the police or Crimestoppers.
